Get Involved
Take part in National Families Week your way.
Families Week is for everyone.
Whether you’re a community organisation planning an event, or a family looking for simple ways to celebrate, there are lots of ways to get involved and recognise the importance of families in Australian life.
You can take part in a way that suits your time, setting and community – from large public events to small, meaningful moments at home.
For Organisations
Community organisations, schools, early learning services, workplaces and local groups are encouraged to host events or activities during Families Week. Your event can be as simple or as ambitious as you like. If it celebrates families, it counts!
Organisations planning an event are encouraged to register it. You’ll get free promotional merchandise (while stocks last) and help us build a national picture of how Families Week is being celebrated across Australia. You can keep your event private or add it to the National Events Calendar for others to find.
Once registered, you can also use the Families Week logo and promotional materials to help promote your event through newsletters, social media, emails, invitations and media releases. Download available digital assets on the Resources page.
For Families
Families can get involved in Families Week in ways that feel meaningful and achievable for them.
You might attend a local event, take part in an activity at your child’s school or early learning service, or celebrate at home through simple activities, conversations or creative projects. Check out our For Kids page for digital resources that can help children explore what family means to them.
You can also find an event happening near you or use our ideas and resources to create your own Families Week moment at home.
